Bible G5 Summary - Semester 1 (Updated)

Results or outcomes of an action or decision are consequences in relation to sin. According to the Bible, the nature of people basically sinful. A characteristic of God's judgment is always righteous.

When King David sinned, it led to a series of events. This sequence of events caused a great deal of turmoil and suffering, not only for David and his family but also for the kingdom of Israel. King David’s sin led to another sin.

Peter feels guilty after committing a sin. After Jesus forgave and restored Peter for denying Him.

Christians should practice prayer and thanksgiving to develop a godly habit.

In the New Testament, Jesus is the Person of the Trinity is referred to as the Word. The name of "Jesus" mean God is salvation. By paying the penalty for their sins, Jesus provide freedom from sin for all people who believe in Him. Jesus never give up to Satan’s temptations and sin.

The name "Immanuel" mean God with us. Omnipotent God is the title "Mighty God". The term God Incarnate term refers to God in the flesh.

Faith in Jesus Christ is the only way to receive forgiveness for the penalty of sin. Something costly offered as a gift is a sacrifice in the context of the Bible. Jesus Christ spoke about He is "the way, the truth, and the life"

During the Passover, the Hebrews have to choose a lamb or goat without fault or defect for the ritual.

The Passover is the event associated with the use of the lamb’s blood on the door-frame. The Hebrews put the lamb’s blood during the Passover on their door-frame. They put the lamb’s blood on their door-frame so, death would pass over their house.

Isaiah known as the Messianic Prophet because he prophesied over 25 prophecies about the life of the Messiah. Isaiah primarily a prophet in Judah.

Rehoboam impact the kingdom to tore the kingdom apart by his poor leadership. Absalom attempted to take over the throne by fighting against King David. 

Absalom steal Israel’s devotion to King David during his rebellion. 

King Ahab and Jezebel worship Baal. Famine and drought are the consequence did Elijah declare due to Ahab's sins. Elijah warns the people about no rain during Ahab’s time. When the brook dried up, Elijah goes to a widow’s home. God sent ravens with food to provide for Elijah after the brook dried up. 

Jesus say about the path to the Father in John 14:6 is only through Him. According to Acts 4:12, salvation found in no one else but Jesus. In Psalm 18:2, rock and fortress was the metaphor does the psalmist use for God. In John 14:6 emphasize about reaching the Father through Jesus exclusively. False religion often claim salvation comes from good works or good people.

The similarity did Samson and Samuel share regarding their births are both were born after their mothers were initially barren.

Jesus read Isaiah 61:1-2 in the synagogue in Nazareth. According to the passage Jesus read, Jesus was proclaiming that he was the fulfilment of the promised Messiah who would bring freedom, healing, and salvation to humanity. After reading from Isaiah 61:1–2 in the synagogue, Jesus declare to the people: "Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing."
