Science G6 Summary - Semester 1

 The three essential elements required by a leaf to perform its work are water, air, and light. Photosynthesis is the primary process occurs in leaves to produce food for the plant. Arachnids class includes spiders within the arthropod phylum. Spiders sense their environment through setae since they lack antennae for touching. Entomologists are the scientists who study insects. Eight legs and a venomous tail are characteristic features of a scorpion. Hundred-footed is another name for a centipede. Setae helps earthworms hold or dig into the soil.

Formation is used to classify rocks. The study of earthquakes called seismology. The study of caves refers to speleology. Coal primarily serves as a fuel. Coal referred to as a fossil fuel because it's derived from plants. The coal commonly found in sedimentary rocks.

A spacesuit provides for an astronaut oxygen and protection from extreme temperatures. Astrology is false belief, or superstition, while astronomy studies stars and planets.
